Rounding decimals to the nearest tenth

Hello, I have been learning how to round decimals to the nearest tenth in my maths workshop. I will be showing you how to do this.

1. Round 34.09 to the nearest tenth

First, you look at the numbers after the decimal. If the number is 4 and under then you will round it down. But if the number is 5 and over you will round it up.

example: round 564

the last number is a 4 which means we will be rounding down so the answer would be 560

So if you rounded 34.09 to the nearest tenth it would be 34.1 (there should only be 1 number after the decimal)
